about

PURBA, a project created in 1996, was the first in Russia to perform the music of ancient sacred Tibetan ceremonies. Since its inception, the original idea has undergone transformations, including numerous concerts and reflections. Currently, Tegin's Phurpa project faithfully reproduces the Tibetan ritual tradition, while the PURBA project specializes in Tibetan ritual-industrial music. This may seem somewhat unusual, considering Tibet's association with industry, but when you compare the sounds preserved for centuries by Tibetans with those of modern industrial civilization, certain similarities emerge. During their rituals, Purba employs handmade instruments such as a gas tank with strings, pipes, and drums. It transcends mere music, instead embodying a mystical spiritual practice rooted in vibrations and living breath.
